DETROIT (WWJ) – A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in the case of a young Downriver woman murdered in Detroit.
Authorities say 21-year-old Kayla Renee Jividen of Riverview was killed just after 3 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at a home in the 1400 block of Cedargrove St. on the city’s east side.
Jividen was shot during a robbery, police said, and the masked gunmen fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Now two months following the slaying, there have been no arrests and no suspects have been identified.
As the investigation continues, police and Crime Stoppers are hoping a tip from the public can help to bring justice in this case.
Friends and family commenting on a tribute page for Jividen described her as sweet, soft spoken and outgoing with a beautiful soul, spunky personality and contagious smile.
Anyone who knows anything should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP (1-800-773-2587). Tips may also be submitted online at this link. As always, tipsters may stay 100 percent anonymous, will not be asked their names, to speak to police or to testify in court.
Cash rewards are paid by Crime Stoppers upon an arrest.
