The Florida Panthers (5-2-1-3) are back in action against the Vancouver Canucks (6-3-0-1) Monday night at 10:00 p.m. ET. Here, we break down the Panthers-Canucks odds and lines, with NHL betting picks and tips.
The Panthers have posted at least one point in eight consecutive games after a 6-2 thrashing of the Edmonton Oilers Sunday. After leaning upon starting goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky, it is likely they’ll turn it over to backup netminder Samuel Montembeault.
The Canucks are also off to a fast start, but they dropped a tough 6-5 decision last time out, Friday against the Washington Capitals. They blew a four-goal lead in that game, so they might come out with a little anger.
Panthers at Canucks: Projected starting goalies
Samuel Montembeault vs. Jacob Markstrom
Montembeault enters with a 1-0-0 record, 1.79 goals against average and .933 save percentage in his one start and three appearances so far. The Panthers paid Bob a lot of money, but Montembeault was drafted with the 77th overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft and is a future No. 1, either in Florida or elsewhere.
Markstrom used to be a member of the Panthers organization, as their 31st overall pick in the 2008 draft. He went to Vancouver in a deal to bring the now-retired Roberto Luongo to South Florida, and the rest is history. He has posted a 4-0-1 mark across the past five outings, although he did cough up five goals in the Friday meltdown against the Caps.

Panthers at Canucks: Odds, picks and betting tips
Moneyline : The PANTHERS (-110) have a ton of firepower offensively, with three legit scoring lines. They’re on a roll with a point in eight straight games, and they’ll add to it against the Canucks (-110), although it wouldn’t be surprising to see a close game.
Spread : The Panthers (-1.5, +230) is a tempting play, and worth a small-unit wager to more than double your money. Don’t get crazy, but they’re a better play than the Canucks (+1.5, -295).
Over/Under : The OVER 6.5 (+120) is a good play at plus-money. Again, Florida has nine legit scoring threats up front and it’s projected to use the backup tendy, too.
